Online Setup Checklist

For Ola — working with Craig. Catering setup.

1. Get internet at the restaurant — do this first

Ola

The restaurant has no internet yet. Online catering orders, the Stripe dashboard, and the website all depend on it.

Today: use your phone's hotspot so we can finish the account steps below. This week: order high-speed business internet (Spectrum Business, AT&T Business Fiber, or whoever serves the address). Ask for installation as soon as possible.

2. Stripe — give Craig limited access (products only)

This creates a special key that can only manage catering products and prices — it can NOT move money, issue refunds, or see customer cards.

Log in at dashboard.stripe.com with your account. Go to Developers → API keys. Click "Create restricted key" (Stripe will text you a verification code). Name it mm-catering-site. Set permissions: Products = Write · Plans = Write · Files = Write · everything else = None. Click Create key and copy the value starting with rk_live_ right away — Stripe only shows it once. Send it to Craig securely — see the last section. Never by plain text message or email.

3. Netlify — move the website into your name

Ola + Craig together Create a free Netlify account at app.netlify.com with your business email. Invite Craig to your team: Team settings → Members → invite as Owner. Craig accepts the invite, then transfers the site into your team (Site configuration → General → Transfer site). Check where the domain is registered: if it's at GoDaddy or similar, make sure that account is yours. If it was bought through Netlify, Craig will open a support ticket to move it to your team. Afterwards: you can change Craig's role to Collaborator — you stay the owner.

4. Google Workspace — give Craig admin access

You already have Google Workspace, so nothing new to buy or connect — Craig just needs an admin account inside it to connect the domain's email records and set up the mailboxes.

Log in at admin.google.com with your admin account. Create an account for Craig: Directory → Users → Add new user (e.g. craig@your-domain.com). This is a normal paid seat (~$7–8/month) — a full account with its own mailbox, so everything works natively with no workarounds. Make Craig an admin: open the new user → Admin roles and privileges → assign Super Admin (or, if you prefer limited access: User Management Admin + Groups Admin + Services Admin). Craig connects the domain's email records (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC) so catering quotes and replies don't land in customers' spam folders. List the mailboxes you need — who gets their own inbox — and Craig sets them up. Free extra addresses: for catering@ or info@ that just forward to existing people, Craig uses an alias or a Google Group — no extra cost.

5. Getting found on Google + measuring results

Ola + Craig together Google Business Profile (most important for a restaurant): make sure the listing at business.google.com is claimed under your Google account — this is what drives Maps and local search. Add Craig as a Manager on the Business Profile (business.google.com → your business → Settings → Managers) so he can manage the listing and see its performance numbers. Search Console: Craig verifies the website domain at search.google.com/search-console (he controls the DNS records). Share ownership: Craig adds your Google account as an Owner in Search Console so you both keep access. Google Analytics: if the business already has an Analytics account, add Craig as an Administrator (analytics.google.com → Admin → Property access management → add Craig's email). If there isn't one, Craig sets up a fresh GA4 property on the site. Why this matters: Analytics + Business Profile + Search Console data is what Craig uses for planning, forecasting catering demand, and showing you what's actually working — it's how we measure the impact of everything on this list.

6. Sending the Stripe key safely

The key from step 2 is like a password — treat it that way.

Use a one-time link: go to onetimesecret.com, paste the key, create the link, and send Craig the link (WhatsApp is fine). It self-destructs after he opens it once. Never send the key itself by plain text message, email, or leave it sitting in a chat.
