Online Setup Checklist

Ola, use this as the current to-do list from Craig. Current focus: Google Workspace/domain email.

1. Get internet at the restaurant — do this first

The restaurant has no internet yet. Online catering orders, the Stripe dashboard, and the website all depend on it.

Today: use your phone's hotspot so we can finish the account steps below. This week: order high-speed business internet (Spectrum Business, AT&T Business Fiber, or whoever serves the address). Ask for installation as soon as possible.

2. Stripe / API — already done

Already done

You do not need to create another API key, send another key, or change Stripe settings. If I need one exact Stripe item later, I will ask for that exact item.

3. Netlify / website ownership — already done

You do not need to create another Netlify account, send another invite, transfer the site again, or change DNS from Netlify. If I need one exact DNS record or Netlify action later, I will ask for that exact item.

4. Google Admin — verify the website domain

The TXT record Ola sent has been added to DNS. The next step is inside Google Admin: click Verify for mmafricankitchen.com. Do not change nameservers, delete DNS records, or create a new Workspace.

In Google Admin, open the menu: click the three-line menu on the left. Go to domains: click Account -> Domains -> Manage domains. Add the domain: click Add a domain or Add/remove domains. Enter this domain exactly: mmafricankitchen.com. If Google asks for type: choose Secondary domain, not domain alias, because we need real M&M email boxes like support@, catering@, and info@. Start verification: continue until Google asks you to verify ownership of mmafricankitchen.com. Select the domain host: if Google asks for the host, choose NS1, then click Continue. TXT record is done: I added the Google verification TXT record to the domain DNS. Go back to Google and click Verify: return to the Google Admin/Workspace page for mmafricankitchen.com and click Verify, Protect domain, or the button Google shows to check the DNS record. Stop and message me if Google asks you to pay for a new plan, create a new Workspace, change nameservers, delete DNS records, transfer the domain, enter card details, or choose between accounts/domains you do not recognize.

5. Google Admin — add my setup account

Once Google says mmafricankitchen.com is verified, create my setup user so I can finish the mailboxes and email records. If Google still will not verify, message me before creating anything else.

Go to users: in Google Admin, click Directory -> Users -> Add new user. Enter my name: First name = Twe. Last name = Ni Biashara. Enter the email: use twe@mmafricankitchen.com if Google lets you choose mmafricankitchen.com. If that domain is not available yet, use the temporary address Google allows and send me that exact email address. Set the password: let Google generate a temporary password. Keep "require password change at next sign-in" turned on if Google shows that option. Create the user: save the temporary password, then send it to me securely. Do not post the password in a group chat. Make me admin: open my new user -> Admin roles and privileges -> assign Super Admin temporarily. If you do not want Super Admin, give User Management Admin, Groups Admin, and Services Admin. Send me three things: the login email, the temporary password, and whether the role says Super Admin or limited admin. After I finish setup: you can reduce or remove my admin access. Keep ownership under your M&M admin account.

6. Google profile + measurement access

Do after email Google Business Profile (most important for a restaurant): make sure the listing at business.google.com is claimed under your Google account — this is what drives Maps and local search. Add me as a Manager on the Business Profile (business.google.com -> your business -> Settings -> Managers) so I can manage the listing and see its performance numbers. Search Console: I will verify the website domain at search.google.com/search-console after the DNS/email access is clean. Share ownership: I will add your Google account as an Owner in Search Console so you keep access. Google Analytics: if the business already has an Analytics account, add me as an Administrator (analytics.google.com -> Admin -> Property access management -> add my email). If there is not one, I will set up a fresh GA4 property on the site. Why this matters: Analytics + Business Profile + Search Console data is what I use for planning, forecasting catering demand, and showing you what is actually working — it is how we measure the impact of everything on this list.
